I really want a thinner lighter version of the BK2, and think the 10 could be just what I'm looking for. But I cannot get past the look of the "clip point". There are a few really nice drop point mods out there.
I guess I need some more convincing to pull the trigger on one. Please tell me what you like about the 10 and show us some mods you have done. Modified Becker's usually push me over the edge rather quickly.

Thanks in advance.

Go for it, don't fear the swedge. I carried one my second tour of Iraq and it hasn't let me down. You could always mod it, but I honestly don't think it's necessary.

Not to rain on the parade of 10ers sure to grace this thread before long, Nor is it my intention to belittle the owners of said awesomeness, but perhaps, if you can't get past the clip point, you should consider a 12 instead.

Nope, I posted a 10 before you suggested a 12, now he's bound to pick a 10. That's the code.

But I sure do love the 12 too.

That's good enough for me. SOLD

I did consider the 12, but too pricey for me to be stripping and grinding on. I can get a 10 and micarta for what the 12 costs.

i love my 10 as an all around camp knife

Looks good on that ILBE pack!

Thanks for the pics Dex, they all look great.

Nice collection you have TwinStick, thanks for posting.

I love my 10. Its just the right size. I rounded and dropped the clip a bit, ground off the Nader Nose, Deramped it, took most of the skull crusher off and made maple handles for it.

The 10 is an awesome blade and if you do wish to modify it, it is easy to do. Here is mine.

This is what I had in mind. those maple scales look great!
Drop point, ramp removed, guard, jimping and micarta mods.
Your mods are always great. I think you raise the bar just a bit higher. I will have to take my time on this one.

Great looking 10. Very nice grinding work. What tools did you use to drop the point?

This thread is trending very well.
I really appreciate all of the Pictures. If anyone would like to add a tutorial that would be really cool.
MY BK10 will be waiting at my door on Monday when I get home from work.
The only thing good about this horrible winter we are having is that with all of our snow (22 inches shy of the all time record) is that I have been getting a lot of OT. However I am bugging for some shop time. This crewman will be just what I need to ward off the cabin fever.

I used a bench vise to secure the blade and just went slowly with an angle grinder and a belt sander... Key is to take your time and try not to remove too much metal as you don't want to generate too much heat plus it is way easier to take more metal off then it is to put back on .... This was my first attempt and I was very nervous but i think it turned out ok.

The important thing to remember is have a plan and work slowly. I make a drawing, strip the blade and redraw on the blade with a fine line Sharpie then securely mount the blade and go to work. Just keep in mind, once the metal is gone its gone. You will be fine, so move forward and have some fun.

I don't have a BK10 yet but I plan to.

I'm not a big fan half of the point on it. But at the same time I kind of like it because it reminds me of the Enfield rifle.

jimped the ramp (but I flattened it recently), laid back swedge, acid etch, blueing, carved handle and kydex insert in the stock sheath. Go ahead and have fun modding yours!

Almost finished. Just need to clean up the grind lines on the spine and start a forced patina. Thanks again for the advice and pics.

Edit: Just ordered Micarta from Tomars

Sorry for the bad lighting and cell phone pics.
