Jose I see where you live in Puerto Rico and have been wondering if there are any places where you can use your khuks that's not related to work, just fun?
Being an island I'm imagining that even though there might be plenty of opportunities to use a khuk, I don't know enough about Puerto Rico to know where that might be?:o :footinmou
It would be interesting to know, for me at least. Will you take some time and tell us about where you use your khuks and if it's for work or for fun, or both I suppose?:D
Some pix would be nice as well if you can manage it.:D

I visited the island a number of years ago. There are beautiful beaches, San Juan and old San Juan, and lots of what appears to be tropical jungle.
Jose can tell you where he lives.

Thanks for your interest Yvsa; it will be my pleasure. Puerto Rico (a US territory) is a relative small island in the Caribbean Sea and it’s part of the Mayor Antilles (with Cuba, Española, and Jamaica). It’s roughly the shape of a rectangle about 119 miles by 42 miles. As Arty mentioned, we have beautiful beaches that can be enjoyed all year  , and the historic fortified city of Old San Juan is a mayor stop for tourists visiting us (highly recommended).

PR has many urban metropolitan areas (San Juan Metro been the largest) but also has vast tropical forests mainly in the central mountain chain (plenty spaces to us a khuk) ;) . We have several forests protected by the US Park Service and, most important, the Rain Forest at “El Yunque”, on one of our highest mountains. I live in an apartment but my father’s home has almost two-acres of land with many fruit trees and greenery at the edge of the rain forest. My father (also with HIKV) and I use our khuks mainly for grounds-keeping work.

PR also has a Tropical Storm Season from June to November, and when a storm hits, that's when we use our khuks the most. Once a storm passes, there’re plenty of fallen trees and debris that has to be cleared. Our last mayor Hurricane passed trough here in ’98, and believe me our hands and backs were killing us. We used some khuks but not from HI, (I wished we had a couple of 18” AK back then). I have a digital camera and will definitely take some pictures of our HI khuks in action and try to post them here.

My father and I are knife enthusiasts and we have been HI customers for more than a year. We have 10 HI khuks now and I know this number will grow (thanks to Uncle Bill and all of you here at the Cantina). The HI Khukuri is one of my favorite knives; good looking, extremely well made and, most important, a great tool to work with ( and working with them is the fun part) :D .
