Hey everyone,
just wanted to wish everyone an early merry christmas and a safe and happy new year.2013 is about here hopefully it will bring new and better things to the backwoods shop, im currently in the progress of teaching a 17 yr old to make knives.its frustrating sometimes but i dont give up.i wished he was another chris, but thats not happening.as we all know 17yr olds have there minds in other places, but this one is really interested in knifemaking and is trying hard. Maybe to hard.i wanna apologize for not being more active on the forum, ive had my hands full and non stop making knives, leaves me little time to be on here like it used to be,one minute this place is on fire an the next its dead as hell, for the most part i figure me an chris play the part to keep things going, maybe were lagging,i know i am.i havent heard from him myself in god knows how long.maybe my fault to? Well its time to go back to making sparks fly.enjoy your day and the holidays, talk to ya all soon!
Bests bill

Merry Christmas from out west too!

Good On Ya for keeping your patience and teaching your boy the tricks of the trade...He may not appreciate it now, but those will be skills and memories he'll wish he'd made more of later on in life (don't we all have those regrets)!

I hope You, Chris and Everyone else here has a safe and Happy Holiday Season and Great New Year!

Merry Christmas,

Mike

Thanks guys, you all have been here from the start! May we all have the best christmas and new year possible!

BA, Merry Christmas to you, your family, and all the family here on this forum. I know for a fact Sally T and I both have a lot to be thankful for this year, and at the top of the list is this will be her 3rd Christmas celebration of being cancer free . . . . :D :D
I think this one fact out trumps all the financial worries, the family squabbles, the work place theatrics, and just the day to day grind of situations we think are so important, but in reality, most can be handled. I am just thankful the news from the oncologist doctors 2 short years ago turned out the way it did . . . .
Merry Christmas everyone, and like Sally T always points out when I start feeling sorry for myself sometimes, our problems are like the man who has no shoes . . . . . . . . . but around the corner lives the man who has no feet . . . . . think about it . . . . . :)
Merry Christmas to everyone who lives on this forum, celebrate, and enjoy your time with everyone around you . . . .
Be safe.

Merry Christmas Bill. Don't worry to much about the forum. It flows a lot like life, up and down. But it keeps going. Just about everyone has had to make changes in this economy, but we're still around.

Yep, 17 years are terrible at making knives.

18 year olds though, are pretty good :D

I'm just messin with ya, have a Merry Christmas and rest easy knowing that he'll appreciate it once it all starts to click.

pssst. I'm 18. It can be done

Merry Christmas Bill.

I joined a couple of years ago after finding the bfs using my google foo, I must say that I have learned more about knives and knife making here than I have in all the previous years of my life. So many of you guys share your expertise and knowledge without any thought of compensation for it. I thank you. It's great that you are teaching a youngster to make knives, it's a satisfying and rewarding experience on both ends...

Merry Christmas to all and a big thank you also.

Pat

merry christmas to all of you from the eastern hemisphere :)

Bill, teaching takes a lot of courage and self discipline I admire you for doing it - although at the end of the day there is little that is more satisfying than teaching young people and seeing that they finally got it right :)

god bless ya'll
