I am looking for a maker that was selling scale release auto's at the show.As you walked in he was against the left wall, about halfway back.
He had these knives, most were pretty plain, seems like he had some bone handled knives with a silver bolster.
Anyone have any idea who I'm talking about? I got to handle the knives while I was there, and really enjoyed them.If you know who I'm talking about, please post any info you might have here, or contact me via e-mail. roberthyatt@hotmail.com or morristheputz@yahoo.com
Thank you,
you may now return to your regularly scheduled programming.

The table that was all the way to the left of the display floor and about 3 tables in was James Crowell. He displayed what looked like a bunch of slip-joint knives but in fact were scale release automatics. The mark on the knives is a shooting star. James is from Mtn View, AR. Hope this helps.

As far as a maker's "personal" info goes, I've always looked at it like this - If they want people to buy their knives (especially if they make their living at knifemaking), people need to know how to get in touch with them. If their contact info is on a public promotional website like the ABS site, or in a promotional book like the Knives Annuals, or on the business cards they hand out, then posting it to a public forum shouldn't be a problem.

Hello Guys,

Jim Crowell forges awesome fixed blades and did not have a table at the recent Little Rock Show.

The guy you are likely thinking of is Cliff Polk. He makes traditional slip joints, lockbacks and scale release automatics.

Good Luck,

Larry

It was Cliff without a doubt. Most in the 3-5 bean range for the scale release styles. Nice guy to chat with.

I stand corrected. Thanks Larry. It indeed was Cliff Polk. Sorry if I caused confusion...
