Bowie's email isn't working and he was wanting me to send him some pictures of Elmo so he could see the damage. I checked the frame after I found a tape measure that wasn't in the shop. The frame looks fine other than being charded. The oil tank may be fine but its bone dry. The motor, pump, and filter were fried.

Elmo looks pretty good after such an ordeal. Just put some oil back in the tank and flip the switch! Maybe a little paint and new hoses and motor and valve but hey it could have been worse. Really it looks better than I thought after the first picture. I hope the insurance will kick in big time. Keep Your head up Ray.

Boy, that would be the ultimate ad... Remember those watch ads, "Takes a lick'n, and keeps on tick'n" ? :D

Has it even been home for a month Ray?

We can't wait to hear it's back up and running :)

I picked up the press on the 12th of July. Hard to believe I was so ruff with it.

Whats the melting temp of brass? I found something pretty interesting on my last scavenger hunt. I'll take a picture of it tomorrow..... I also found my fire extingwisher, well a forth of it anyway.

Dang Ray, I didn't know you even had a fire. I can't believe I missed it. I hope you are getting along OK and that no one was hurt.

outch it got hot to say the least the cyclinder is down that tells me its lost all itseals im sure it was up when you last used it i know the pump and control valve well be of no us for the same reasonbut im glade to know the frame is not worped that gives a starting place , elmo may live again

There is alot better ways to stress relieve a weldment.

It looks like it can be salvaged. New components it it will be up and running in no time.

Ray,All will work out..Keep a stiff upper lip, dive in and rebuild.Knives will be flying out of the shop in no time....

At least Elmo stayed standing. She looks like she will be fine with a little bit of tlc and new parts...

Ray...the postitive thing u have gouing for you is a true friend like Ron Claiborne who will support you in getting this thing going again.

Keep the faith!

Greg

Yeah I hope the insurance really comes through for ya, Ray. Maybe the new shop can be made from concrete blocks? :)

Wow, I had no idea you had a fire either. Good luck getting everything in order again. From Ron's post and from your pic, it just shows more reasons to buy your press from him.
