Esav,
I can understand your decision to move the discussion about 'sheeple' from the trip report thread in W&SS and place it in W&C. It was detracting from the thread.
However, I do not understand why you moved this post by me:
Instead of simply responding to it.
So, I will ask the question again here.
The word 'sheeple' comes up regularly in discussions in W&SS. Some posters use it reflexively, without thinking about it too much. Others use it deliberately with the intention to belittle and draw distinctions between 'us' and 'them'. Other posters disagree with the use of this word, and feel that it does not serve the interests of the W&SS community.
I think that a thread on this topic in W&SS would be interesting. Posts that stray into the political realm could be removed.
It's a contentious topic, but it's also a pertinent one.
But my respectful question about this was moved to W&C.
I do not want to start a thread about this if the position of the mods is that such a discussion is verboten.
Could you clarify?
Thanks.

I also feel that it was unfortunate that that issue became a topic of discussion in this thread.
But the issue itself is an appropriate topic for discussion in the W&SS forum. Unless it is the position of the mods that the way that we present ourselves as wilderness enthusiasts and interact with the uninitiated is not to be discussed here. Which would be odd. I think that it is an important issue. Esav, will you allow a new thread to be started in W&SS about this?
All the best,
- Mike
