Help me understand what rule I have broken so I will not jeopardize my status here further (love the Gadgets and Gear forum :thumbup: ).

Here is what is left of my post

In the 'Community' forum I made an offer to football fans for a fantasy football league I am trying to get started and it was labeled spam as "Cross-forum posting to your personal website is not allowed as a registered user on BFC."

So let me make sure I understand this.

1 - I can not post a link to anything on my personal web site or are some postings allowed?

2 - What content is permitted in the 'Community' forum? Seemed like a natural for my post.

3 - If I had posted my request with an e-mail instead of a personal web address it would have been OK?

Yeah I'm a little put off but I'll get over it ;) More importantly I want to understand the rules here and somehow I missed this one in my review.

The moderators conferred and decided although you certainly didn't have any evil intention, just the same the post was basically promoting your website, so we decided to despam the post but not to yell at you too much. No harm done. :cool:
 
The specific problem here is links to other forum sites. I'm sure you can understand that there are competitive issues.

While I can't guarantee perfection, we do try to enforce this rule uniformly, so don't feel like anyone is picking on you.
 
At the top of the Community Forum I posted an announcement. In that announcement are some rules & guidelines regarding the Community Center Forum as well as some helpful info. Please read it. I didn't post it as an announcement so it can be ignored. It looks as though I may have to add some stuff to it.

And as far as your thread goes Cougar and Chuck pretty much summed it up.

I read the announcement and didn't see where it addressed any of my three questions or my post and that WAS the cause of my confusion.

The comments HERE are helpful and appreciated and basically clear the matter up for me. Thanks!

So is there any way I can try to drum up some players for my FF League here?

That's not what Bladeforums is for. We don't run this site for the benefit of strangers who want to drum up players for their fantasy football leagues. Sorry....

Try a web search; I bet there are places on the net where you can do that.

That's true but I was trying to be kind of selective, limiting it to people who had other common interests....try to build some community. I won't bring it up again.
