Thanks for the info on the strop and green stuff. I got mine in the mail last night and it works like a charm. Definitely a good method of sharpening. Brought my SOG Recon Bowie to a wicked edge. I have many bare patches of arm now.

The green stuff I was referring to is a micro-fine honing compound. I had told Carl a while back that I was having trouble getting my Recon Bowie shaving sharp and he told me about his method of sharpening. I bought the stuff and tried it and it worked great.

yeh, search around for threads which I started, or to which I've posted .... searching for words like "sharpen leather mouse pad green honing compound" .... words like that.
