RJ Martin has very kindly offered to distribute BladeForums labels at the show so we'll be able to identify each other. Please stop by RJ's table to say Hi & pick up a label. For those who may not have seen the earlier thread, these will be 2"X4" self-adhesive labels with the following logo:

Thanks again to Spark for giving us permission to use the logo & to RJ for agreeing to distribute them. See you there!

Opening day, opening bell, counting the days...Any suggestions for getting the latest additions past the wife?!

Ebbtide, either wear something with big pockets or bring a bag or case of some type along to put them in -- just so you don't walk in the door with them in your hands. Once they're in the house, "Oh, this old thing?" seems to work fairly well.

Darrel, I'll be dropping off the labels w/RJ when the doors open on Fri. I'll print extras & drop one off with you.

It's at the Sheraton New York Hotel, 811 Seventh Ave. I believe the cross street is 52nd.

Well, Ebbtide, there's always the "I traded some stuff" ploy. (I REALLY hope that my wife never decides to read this forum.)

About the New York Knife Show I was told that the cross street was 53th?? I hope I don't get lost in such a big town with a box full of knives. I am going to be at the New York show also at the R DAVID KNIFE TABLES.
Anyone that is going to be there come see me for I would like to meet you.

The cross street could very well be 53rd. I used an address finder formula that doesn't always hit it on the head. Don't worry about getting lost, Newt. Seventh Avenue is a major street & you should have no problem finding the Sheraton.

I'm happy to learn that you are going to be there. I'll be sure to stop by.

Just a reminder guys, there is another Sheraton across the street...check both.

Newt, don't sweat it. It's a great big building, right next to the other great big building... Just kidding, it is either 52nd or 53 street and 7th ave. You won't have any problems, we New Yorkers are a helpful bunch (despite popular opinion) The best Cheese burger in the 'hood is at PJ Carney's Pub... just go up 7th ave to 57 street. It is on 7th just across 57th.The NW corner. Looking forward to meeting you in person!

You're right about Carney's. I think they might get a bit nervous though if a bunch of us show up & start comparing our latest acquisitions.

Newt, glad you'll be there. are you bringing any of those NRGs? how much of an edge is on them? can you hold one for me?

I hope the answer is "yes", Newt. I'm interested in one myself.

Got to get a me sticker (and got to remember to remove it before going on my aeroplane :-) )

On Sneaking new aquisitions past the kherberos at home these sugestions have all been hand-tested and will work (we do however not give any guarantees, any family-crisis are Your own responsibility):

1) .. Oh the Crawford Damascus Kasper - I traded the it. No I didn't have to pay anything in between

2) Oh that old CS IX SanMai Tanto - I had completely forgotten I had it - just found it and took it down from the bookshelf.

3) ... oh the Elishewitz cost about .... look an aeroplane !!!

4) but concealment

5) when he installs a metal-detector in the door-frame - buy a Warren Thomas.

actually mine's a great gal as well and she's right really - and I could stop if I wanted to - and the cheque is in the mail - and I was home watching TV when it happened - and sure it's in like new shape - and read my lips: no more taxes
