Dear Craftsman members of S&S,

If you've posted your contact info in the "Sheath Makers ..." sticky you might have noticed that it's probably a royal pain in the rear for a member to actually find anything in that 2 page thread. It takes us a while just to find lapsed memberships.

If you have a post in that thread, could you please do us a favor and look at Paul's and RKBarton's posts? Short and sweet relevant info and a few pics attached as small thumbnails is more than adequate. Please edit to follow their lead if you could. If you wanna post a lot of pics or have them fill the page, you're welcome to make a picture thread and put the link in the sticky thread post.

We think tidying up the thread to be sleeker and faster loading would benefit makers and people looking for work alike.

ETA: Also, please make sure your membership is displayed correctly (orange or green). If not, click here.

Thanks,
Your friendly neighborhood mod staff

Slipped my mind that the thumbnail thing isn't very intuitive.

Instructions:

Save the pics you want as thumbnails to your computer/device.

Click on the "Edit Post" button on your post in the sticky.

Click the icon in the toolbar that looks like a paperclip. Should be right next to the smiley button. You may have to click the "Go Advanced" button for this to show up.

An attachment explorer should pop up in it's own window. In the upper right click on "Add Files". Click "Browse" and select an image on your computer/device. Click "Upload" and it should show up on the bottom section of that window. Do this for each image and each should show up in that bottom part.

Click "Done" in the lower left corner and you should now have zoomable thumbnails attached to your post.

Then just tidy up the rest of the post and you're set. 5 thumbnails should be a good number. Again, if you want more images or bigger ones, feel free to start a pic thread and link to it.

I do realize it's a bit annoying, but it really is a good thing.

On another note, several posts have been moved offline due to expired memberships. If you're among them, just let me or Dwayne know when you re-up and we can put 'em back.

Done my friend.
Hope it helps and others follow suit :)

Thanks, guys. I should note that the single picture thing in lieu of thumbnails should be fine. Mainly trying to cut down the walls of pics.

I'll send PMs out in a couple days and try to get the rest to slim it down.

Done, that makes a heck of a difference. Now if everyone would follow suit it will look a lot cleaner.

Thanks, Skyler. Love the way you did your thumbnails.

I've been a bit busy and preoccupied, but will get PMs to the rest this week and give everyone some time to sort it out (holidays and all). After that, I'll likely just start snipping the remaining galleries and folks can re-edit when they get to it.

Thanks, everyone. Thread is getting a lot easier to load and look through. I know it doesn't seem like much, but it should make a big difference to folks looking for sheath work. Also a whole lot easier for Dwayne and myself to keep up to date. That thread was killing my poor old PC a month ago.

I know some folks are having trouble with doing thumbnails. Absolutely fine to just include a single regular size pic (just be reasonable) instead for the time being. I'll try to do a tutorial with pics on how to do the attached thumbnails when I get some time. Also, everyone is welcome to start a separate thread here in Sheaths & Such with as many pics as they want and add a link to it in their post on the list.

Thanks again.

Didn't wanna delete links, so any post with more than one full size pic has had any past the first converted to links. People can adjust things when they get to it.

I'll try to do a thumbnail tutorial soon. Projects and work are keeping me busy ATM.

Great Job Kiah, Thank you for all you do Brother.

Easiest for my leather work, look on my website and on Pintrest.
Doing some other supply related things at the moment, but was asked to re-enter info here. Old website still up on Google Sites though out of date, new one coming. URL links.

Thanks!
