What do you use to lube the pivot area of your Synergy? Well...I've found that if you flush out the Synergy out with lots of warm water, and spray the whole thing down with something like Windex or auto glass cleaner, and work the solution around in the pivot, and flush again with water...you get the smoothest damned knife you've even seen before. Just shake ALL the water out of the pivot area, and run that baby bone dry!!! This also helps with the Synergy's tendancy to trap "dust" in the pivot area where the thumbstuds engage the handle.

I just posted this, because they ship new with Tuff Glide (?) ...type of white grease, and they aren't very smooth with this gunkin' it up.

I've had my Synergy for about 3 months and did'nt oil it yet.I sprayed it with a air dust cleaner thats made for computer keyboards. It's been as smooth as the day I got it.I was also kind of surprised when Jim recommened not to use any oil.
There was a thread a while ago about someone who used some lubricant on his Synergy and then it did'nt pass the spine whack test.He sent it back and Jim said it was the lube that was the problem.Jim cleaned it out and put a sealed lube in the pivot, aired out the surrounding area and fixed it.The customer got it back and spine whacked it a few more times and it was fine.
