I spent hours and hours on web searches looking for "Saatisal" and variations. The description generally seen on HI is correct, in that it is a "hill oak". There is another variety used by furniture makers, also called "Saatisal". I corresponded with one such individual in Kat, who offerred to send sample blocks of several local oaks, but before that took place he closed his shop and moved to India, to escape the "troubles". He did say that "Saatisal" is used generically to describe several woods - just to add to the confusion. The second book, in particular, might give enough detail to clear up at least some of the mystery.
