I went to Peter Atwood's website and saw his little neck knives, but couldn't find any decent reviews on his knives or tools at all. I know he uses SV30 on alot of his stuff but how do they hold up? Anyone have any experience or general info on Atwood? thanx!

I have several of his smaller knives and a few non-blade related tools as well. Overall I really like them and they have held up for my needs. I would recommend any of his items that you think you might use. Was there any particular item that caught your eye?

There is one problem with Atwood stuff though. Seems like Peter's popularity is soaring right now and it's virtually impossible to get stuff directly from him anymore. He's one guy making several items that are immediately gobbled up as soon as he puts them up on his site. He said it took 10 minutes to sell out all his stuff the last time he put a batch up for sale. Good luck. I certainly can't devote all my time to watching a site waiting for something to be available. Many of these buyers appear to be flipping them over on the bay for a large profit.

So unless you want to pay a really high price on an auction, you'll have to find one on a forum somewhere. The biggest contingent of Atwood fans appear to hang out over at ecdforums. I'd check out their sale threads and they also pop up here from time to time as well.

Some of his newer items have caught my eye, but with the way things are currently going I don't see myself getting any new Atwood items anytime soon. Good luck.

Supposely he is going to try to produce some of his items in larger numbers to prevent the Evilbay markup, however, I do not "think" that those items will be his knives.

I owned a booger and liked it, but sold it shortly after at no loss. He has some really great designs.
Like was said, edcforums has lots of reviews, all positive, pretty much.

I just picked up (somehow) his new Sharkbite and (older design) BikeTool. My guess is similiar to others expressed in that if he started selling knife-like items again (even his older designs only)...it would be 10 minutes and they're all gone as well.

Great stuff...just a relationship ruined between this guy and the average Joe out there desiring his product by those who could give a rip less about anybody besides a buck or two (literally).

I've got a Prybaby in S30V from Atwood back a couple of years ago. It's been in my pocked as part of my EDC set ever since. I *love* the thing. It works perfectly, and is very well made. Over the past few years, I've put it through a lot more abuse than I'd expected, and with the exception of a few scratches I've given it, it's still as good as new.

The Prybaby is my only first-hand experience with one of his products, but I want to take a moment to remark on Peter Atwood himself. He was one of the best people I've dealt with. There was a shipping problem with my Prybaby (lost in the mail) and as soon as I contact him on it, he immediately sent another one to me, and just requested that if the first one ever showed up, that I let him know. No questions asked. It's hard to ask for better customer service.

Put together the quality of the Prybaby, and the fact that Peter is awesome to deal with, and I'd say you can't go wrong with him.

I have MANY Peter Atwood tools, AND I own one of his folders that he used to make; A Solar Arc. Peter's stuff IS outstanding!! Fit and finish are fantastic.
