First off I have to say that I didnt get so lucky on one of the Shapliegh axes that was there. Was a very nice looking vintage axe that sold for $20. I am not a collector but new to axes. The guy who bought that is a collector said it was worth around $100. Was in good shape.

I am new to backpacking and bushcraft so I though I would pick up some vintage axes to restore and use for those purposes. Please help me with what I have and which ones you think would be worth the effort for backpacking. I am not going to use the double edge axe for that. I thought it was nice and worth restoring anyway. So I will start with it. Also do these have a value at all? I paid roughly $10-$15 a piece except the 4 without handles, this I paid a total of $20 for.

Double edge axe stamped Mann Edge Toll CO Lewistown PA
Has a nick in one edge but in pretty good condition needs a new handle.

I have 3 kelly works axe heads all different by stanp one is true temper some edge.. cant read it. One wood glasher made by kelly axe and "something" works and one true temper with a raised bevel edge

I have some hatchets.. wondering if A longer handle would be good for these while bushcrafting for splitting and hammering especially since some have a nice hammer side.

True temper with a nail claw

One just says made in austria, but very good condition.

A unico and plumb that look very similar

And a keen kutter

I am going to try and figure out how tonpost pictures.

Sound like you did good. The Flint Edge is a very high quality axe. The don't draw the premium prices like axes with great stamps. But a Flint Edge is as good of user as you could ever want. The Woodslasher was Kelly's budget line. Still a good axe but not as good as the Flint Edge. The Austrian might be a Stubai or a Müller. They both shipped a lot of axes to the USA. It's good stuff.

A True Temper claw hatchet or Tommy Axe will make a fine camping/hiking hatchet. Very useful.

Perfect is a step above a Flint Edge. Might be the same steel but higher level of finish and possibly a hardened poll - some Perfects had them.
