We are doing this auction to benefit Vampire Gerbil and his family.

See the threads in the General forum to get up to speed on what happened to him and his family.

Normally we don't allow auctions, but since VG is a valued member, and needs our generosity, we're making an exception.

The first knife being offered is an Al Mar/ Chris Reeve collaboration 5.5" Sable IV with a double guard, penetrator tip, and short run of serrations at the ricasso. The knife and the sheath both have the Al Mar and CRK logos. it is in excellent condition. Starting bid is $300. No pics available at this time.

This knife is being offered by Esav Benyamin. Please direct any questions on this knife to him at ebhausman@juno.com.

The second knife is a Benchmade Mini Stryker. This knife is in very good condition. It is satin part serrated blade. Lockup is on center and very tight. The blade has some light scratches on it from use, and the G-10 scales are near perfect. The pocket clip is missing a screw. This will make a great user.
Minimum bid on this is $50.

  • The auction will run until Sunday, January 9th, 2005. The cut off time will be midnight EST.
  • The two forms of payment accepted will be either Paypal, directed at VG's account, or a USPS money order, directly mailed to him. Ed and I will REQUIRE proof of payment before the winning bidder receives the knife. I will provide Dave's snail mail address to the winner if required.
  • Bid high, and bid often. remember, the money benefits VG and his family. Neither Ed or I will make any money from this at all.
  • If you are the winner of the auction, you will be contacted with the above payment terms, required addresses, and what proof we need to ship the knife to you.
  • Post your bids here in this thread.

Great idea you two!

More V.G. stuff here out of my collection. I will be adding a Queen Barlow from another member tonight and will be adding more stuff later so check early and check often.

I think $70 for mini stryker is about the highest I can go. I'll Coin Star all my change for the man. :eek:

Vampire Gerbil has had a rough go of it lately, and needs our support. He has been a moderator here for a long time, and has provided all of us with a few laughs, friendship, and advice.

For those of you who don't know, VG's wife was killed in a car accident in October, and shortly afterwards, he himself suffered a very serious, paralyzing stroke. He is doing much better now, but he has a long road of recovery ahead. He needs to be able to feed his family, and keep the roof over their heads.

Let's return the favor by generously bidding on these knives here, as well as the ones Gus is offering.

It will mean a great deal to this man and his family.

what about just sending money? don't really care about the knives.

thought of kids losing their mom, and their dad struggling with his health...too much.

A new knife is going to be added to the mix within the next day or so. I'm just waiting on a return email. it is a very sweet blade!

The knife is a custom made fixed blade by Reese Weiland. It is brand new and never used. A concealment/backup made from 3/8" S30V steel, its 5 1/4" OAL, blade is Reese's famous hawkbill at 2 1/2" double ground and wicked sharp. The top and handle are notched for indexing, and the handle is contured for a sure grip when deploying. Its got a camo pattern out of DLC coating on the entire knife. It comes in an urban camo kydex sheath. Reese's price on a similar piece is $150; please start the bidding at just $60, but remember its for a Good Cause!
