Aurora borealis

Yeah. I posted to give everyone a heads up. Just went on an hour drive (30 minutes out and back). Didn’t see jack. Even a 3s exposure didn’t show jack, and I deliberately went down to the darkest country roads with open farmland. 🥺
 
Lol. So I drive around for an hour. Didn’t see squat.

Knowing that activity/intensity can and does change minute to minute, decided to step out into the backyard and finally saw it.

Arghh… took the photos on the phone in Raw mode. Can’t upload.
 
It’s cool to see but a shame our eyes don’t see it like it appears in all the pics, you can see there’s some color and banding but nothing like the camera picks up! It was awesome living on Lake Ontario as a kid, I feel like you could see the Northern Lights more often than not and the water gives it an added effect compared to being out in the sticks, no complaints from last night though, the sky was pretty dang colorful even at 11pm.
