Having no experince with this steel and a Native SS coming in the mail, what does everyone think of it?
Edge holding mainly as I'm not too overly concerned with rust, since I care for my knives each on a weekly basis. Ron

I have had a couple with AUS 10.Easy to sharpen holds a edge well.I would love to see more with it.Maybe a run of the Native 3s?

Hi, Ron. It's a great steel. I wonder why it wasn't used on many models, maybe because meanwhile it came the VG-10.

AUS-10 is an excellent mid-level steel. It is nearly identical to 440C, although it should exhibit slightly greater toughness and slightly less stain resistance. For purposes I would put it a notch below the high-end stuff like VG-10 and 154CM, but still quite good.

It most closely resembles VG-10. I assume Sal found VG-10 superior, but I'd be surprised if there was a real big difference. It takes a nice edge like AUS-8 and VG-10.

Thanks guys, so far I like it fine! Alex I'm with you I wonder why it saw such limited usage? It's very easy to get a razor edge on. Ron
