Was just curious of experiences people had in terms of there aus-6 seal pups edge retention...I've only had mine a few weeks I've put it to a little bit of use (stuff I'd expect it to do while camping) and so far it's held up but I hear this steel is famous for quickly losing its edge....before I take it out in to God's country for an extended period I just wanted to see some other peoples experience

dunno bout the seal pup (mine was stolen :( ) but the seal 2000 has good edge retention

Don't know about the Seal Pup specifically, but the edge retention
of AUS 6 is not very good in my experience.

It does sharpen up quick and easy to a great edge, though.

But it dulls quickly.

So I went ahead and reprofiled the seal 2000. Chopped up about 20 2x4s as stakes for the garden next summer. Few swipe on the the fine grid stone, and its back to shaving sharp.

now THERE'S what I like to see, some awesome testimony to:

1. make things like you want 'em to be.
2. gittin' 'ur done.

FANTASTIC !!!

Cheers,

Carl
