Hi Cold Steel,

The new Espada in AUS10 seems like a great compromise between performance and price. I was wondering if you guys would apply to same formula to other models i.e. the Recon 1 and the American Lawman?
AUS10 seem like an incredible steel from what i heard, and perhaps it could help you guys go down market by offering these models in the pre-2015 pricing? E.g. a $50-60 AUS10 American Lawman may compete very well with all the new Chinese budget makers i.e. the Civivi, Tangram, Ruike, Bestech and other brands.

This is a very in depth topic that can't necessarily be discussed however, we always welcome input and consider everything that comes across the table.

Aus10 is an excellent value in a steel. It is easy to maintain and not tempermental.

While the VG10 often offered in the more budget items in the Chinese brands you listed is probably going to have better edge holding property vg10 is much harder to sharpen than Aus10.

Aus10 was a very good steel choice for Cold Steel knives which are often used hard (ie: abused) and expected to survive.

I'd be interested to buy models in Aus10. It sounds a useful steel.

Since bringing the Mini Recon 1 was discussed in another post, this would be a great idea for it.
Bring a budget version of it back in AUS10

I was going the other way. I was hoping for 20cv steel on an upscale American Lawman and Recon1. Uncoated satin finish.
That s just what I need. More knives to buy!
By the way, I like working with my new Voyager with aus10 steel.the

I heard on another thread that the company making cts xhp steel wasn't t going to sell it for knife blades any longer. Is that true? If not, could you guys consider using it on limited runs?
