Hi all. I am new here but have been lurking for a good couple of months and really enjoy and appreciate the content in the ESEE forums.
I currently have a RC3,RC6 and Junglas and am looking to add to the collection. It is an addiction but a nice one!!

Anyways my problem being I find it difficult to source ESEE products here in Australia so was wondering if

A) Anyone can point me in the right direction to source ESEE in Australia or

B) Am I better off sourcing the ESEE products from the US and if so is there any dramas in importing blades and such into the country?

Any input will be very much appreciated.

Cheers Guys

I can't help you with your questions. I would however like to be the first to welcome you to the forum. So welcome! I hope you enjoy your stay.

Hi mate, and welcome to the ESEE forum, as well as BFC in general.

1. Shoot me an email, and I give you the details of a great Australian importer who can probably help you.

2. I've had no hassles with importing fixed blades into Australia, besides daggers and other illegals. As long as you don't go for the sharpened clip point versions, it should be fine buying straight from the US. If you can handle the wait of course.:D

Hey mate,

I'm an Aussie too. I bought my RC-4 and izula from the US and had no problems (a lot cheaper than buying from anywhere in Australia). A mate of mine in customs said that there is no problem importing ESEE knives. The only exception is their clip point models which he doubts would maker it through.

Welcome to the forums! I'm sure you will get all the help you need from our brothers and sisters here

Giday mate and wellcome to the addiction,
I'm in Queensland and buy through Dale at the knife connection or Derrick from knives ship free. In fact I just picked up an RC3 from Dale this week:D:D
Always great service and a pleasure to deal with.
The biggest problem is which one to buy next:eek:
Enjoy your stay these are a great bunch to hang out with.

All the best,
Rich

I can't sing their praises enough. Very good prices on most models and they ship to Australia for $12US flat. Get's to my door around 6 business days or less. That's shorter period of time than Cuttingedgeknives who frankly can be a little tardy. KSF ship the same day you place the order, even on Sundays and when it says 'In stock' they mean they have it ready to go!

On the question of customs, don't try buying folders or blades sharped on both edges and you'll be fine. Even in Viktoria.

+1 for Knives Ship Free and Urban Conquest. Most fixed blades should be fine... I've had Izulas and Bark River from KSF with no problems.

Like folks have said before - avoid the ESEE clip points which could be considered "daggers" by customs (double-edged).

Gday and welcome to BF. I have recently got into Esee also, and await a few examples...

I can vouch for Urban Conquest. I will not deal with anybody else here in Oz.

I'm with Gundy. Urban Conquest is the go-to place for my gear these days.

Fixed blades are relatively easy to import. Although with new laws just announced, Sheath Knifes may be on their radar.

there are more stupid laws coming round?

I heard VIC are getting some really tough laws.

I think they even introduced one last month where you can't even buy a plastic knife if you're under 18.

But I had seen the one with knives in sheaths, which is concerning.

Welcome Pedro, great to see another Aussie. UC is great, +1 on what Gundy said.

About sheath knives, it depends on ACS interpretation of what a sheath knife is, I believe they mean a OTF dagger, like a microtech kind of knife, and the "sheath" is the handle, which the blade resides in, thus it is a "sheath"

however Finch you could be right.

I find the trouble is that the people who decide don't know either.

And depends on how they're feeling during the day.

They generally have pictures of the weapons that are prohibited (as opposed to controlled which all knives are in Vic) and from memory a sheath knife is one that has a blade concealed inside itself and is generally spring loaded, ie automatic.

The day they say a knife that comes in a sheath is illegal is the day I move to the US or Canada.

Hopefully that day will never come.

But I agree, Canada is a beautiful place, some of the scenery photos that the canadian members post up are stunning.

But then again we've got great scenery as well

Amen to that HandofCod. FinchWizard, I'm in NSW, and I couldn't live in Vic with the laws they have there. Have you guys heard that some blokes from the AKC have put together a body to protest and fight further blade legislation. Check it out.

Might have to be a member of the forum to view, though...
