Thought I might show off this one to everybody. It was a custom order for a fellow Aussie. Although it wasn't until he had the knife that we realised it ended up being in Aussie colours Green and Gold. Nessmuk shaped blade and also obviously influenced by Ray Cover's knives.

This one ended up being the first slip joint with my new method of cutting the nail nicks in. Another feature is the screw together construction, which I quite like. I improved it over my first screw together slip joint as I used pins as well as screws to hold the spring in place and aligned. I also having been improving the tolerance on how flush I can get the spring to sit with the liners. On this one there is less than 0.0005 inches difference in the open, closed and half stop positions.

- 3/32" ATS-34 blade and spring
- Flat ground blade
- Brass liners, milled to prevent scratches on the tang
- Turquoise Canvas Micarta
- Half Stop
- Just over 3" closed
- 2" blade

Thanks for looking

Combine a tablespoon of Shing, mix in a dash of Ray Cover, and season to perfection with a pinch of Dozier, and what you get is Alistair Phillips ...

Trust me, the pictures don't do this knife justice. When you hold it in your hand, you just know it's a KEEPER. I spent most of today ripping through boxes, thick plastic, carving wood - without so much as a scratch. And it's gorgeous...

My only regret is that I didn't order 2!... Thanks Alistair, I absolutely love it!

Alistair that's a most attractive knife. are you thinking of selling any knives in the B.F. "Knifemakers For Sale" forum so us non-Aussie guys can get one ?

I would love to. At this stage I only make them in my spare time and my order list is getting close to 2 years wait so I am unlikely to post any soon though. It take me about 2 months per knife working on Sunday afternoons so I don't get many done :( There are so many patterns I would love to try and make too as well as different combinations of handle materials. I am getting an electrician in to install more lighting in my workshop so I can get some shed time after the kids go to bed. That is what this knife is paying for. It will be the first time my knifemaking has paid for a workshop upgrade/piece of equipment.
