G'Day Tim,
Photobucket just doesnt seem to want to upload for me,I am not on Broadband yet going on next week. I have 5 photos to support a story on a proto fixed blade that I purchased from factory clearout that was actively discussed on this forum at the time as to whether it was a genuine Old Timer or not, being a variation flat grind between a 160OT MountainLion and 165 Woodsman.I was the buyer and believe it or not I used to read the forum at the time but not participate as I did not believe I knew enough to contribute info. I have taken photos next to 160 and 165 and it is different in every way possible so may be a proto or at least a 'lunch time special 'as was suggested by a member.
It was the posting 4th July 06 under "Another item on Ebay"
The member who doesnt post on here at present ,suggested I was loopy to pay US $35 for it. You blokes can be the judge as it is definately a Schrade Old Timer.,and I reckon good value as a variant.
I collect mainly folders however my photos will show a fair selection of Mint Schrade Fixed blades,I have..
Message for Larry Vickery. Those mint 2OT and 3OT from the Conference room wall listed under "Something Special" on your excellent forum,I am honoured to say are actually now mine, purchased privately like a lot of my knives....
I will post some more photos and some special folders from the 'walls' as well.,if I ever work out how to post these blasted photos.
Question: Does anyone have any more history than is in Mr Robert Clemente's book on the elusive 2OT and more particularly the original 3OT which doesnt get a mention.Hoo Roo

Larry, you could try http://tinypic.com/, thats the site I use but if your on dial-up it's going to be painfully slow. What I do is start to type a reply or new thread here, then open a new window and go to tiny pics, once there just click on the Browse button and select your photo, then click on the link, that should highlite it in blue, then right click and copy then go back to your message, get the courser where you want the picture, right click, then paste. It's really easy once you get it the first time.
I usually put my photos in a file in "my documents" , it makes them easier to find when you browes. Or you could just e-mail them to a friend.

Thanks Upstream, I already have them in my documents and I guess I was looking for a friend. I learn quick but dont have anyone here at present with any computer knowhow to show me. My speed is only 46kbps but am going on Broadband next week approx 276 kbps I think which should be faster. Hoo Roo Larry

Larry, if you can't get them done yourself e-mail them to me and I'll try to post them for you. Let me know if you want them added to an existing thread or a new thread. I just learned how to do it myself. Hoo Roo and Yee Haw!

Thanks Barry, What is your email address mate? Mine is pnlarry@chariot.net.au
Re your last post on another thread regarding rarity of Schrade and associated Company knives and whether a book would be comprehensively address all the stories behind their manufacture/development/mergers/takeovers...etc...etc.
That Book will be huge mate and I suspect Volume 1 will follow with Vol2 etc.
As an example I just went into AAPK Forum and under heading 2OT and 3OT which I now have, I find they are the start of the great 'Old Timer' line. Were appearantly tried with various scales like smoothbone and real bone before settling on sawcut delrin, Appearantly the 3OT that I have was once owned by a MR. Herman Williams before ending up on 'The Conferance Room Display Board" and he is quoted as saying there were only about a dozen 3OT's ever produced and never actually got to manufacture stage. You can see how one story will inevitably lead to another and I find interesting in the extreme. The "more common" 2OT was produced from 1959 so we are talking about stories approaching 50 years old. This is why "A "book needs to be produced to preserve these histories in my opinion, and then add to them in subsequent volumes..
Thanks for your offer to post those photos Barry they can just appear here as the first post says it all...it will just be interesting if fellow members can pick the pretender amongst the other Old Timer Fixed Blades in the first photo, Hoo Roo

Thats fine Larry let me know, you can email them to me if you wish, I used to have trouble doing it myself, its not too difficult just a matter of remembering each step. You can post them to me if you wish.
Regards Tim
