Spotted last month in Hollywood, Florida: Austin-Healey 3000 MK I BT7 2+2. I didn't talk to the owner, please correct me if I've mistaken the model.
In production March 1959 March 1961, with 10,825 of the 2+2 model built: 2912 cc inline 6 engine, twin carburetors, front disc brakes. Wire wheels, overdrive gearbox, safety glass windshield, heater, adjustable steering column, detachable hard top and two-tone paint were all available as options.
A BT7 3000 with hardtop and overdrive tested by The Motor magazine in 1960 had a top speed of 115 mph and did 060 mph in 11.7 seconds. Fuel consumption was 18.0 mpg-US. The test car cost £1326 including taxes: adjusted with a Real Price Index, that is $44,329 in 2013 US dollars.
I was 12 when these came out and I wanted one. Any drivers here?
