More Info please.

Are you coming for a visit if so where are you going, as laws do vary state to state. Are you more concerened what you can bring in?

You might want to post this thread inAsian & Australian forum if you haven't already.

We've answered a few questions like this in the Aussie and Asian forums. I suggest going there and doing a search on 'knife laws'. Victoria seems to have the toughest, while the Northern Territory has almost none at all.

I was at the Mindal Beach markets in Darwin (NT) last year and a saw an old stockman wandering the stalls with a fixed blade in a sheath on his belt and a .22 rifle slung over his shoulder - no-one paid him the slightest attention.

I wouldn’t be in too much of a hurry to get out of the US.

According to most terrorism specialists Australia is the forth most likely location for a future terrorist attack after the US, UK, and Israel.

Customs will not let daggers, autos, or gravity knives into the country.

Victoria (from memory) has recently banned swords.

If you check out some of the threads in the Asian and Australian forum you’ll see how many of us regularly wonder if the knife we want can be imported into Australia.

The Aussie dollar is likely to fall in value over the next year, so anything you order from here will be bloody expensive.

If you go to my profile and to my homepage you can contact my good friend OUPA and just ask him. Tell him I sent you. He lives in Victoria Australia and is a registered knifemaker there. He can probably answer some of your questions.

has a brief intro to whats allowed and not, and theres a weapon identification thing you can use to see what categories your purchases may fall into.

Victoria has tough knife laws. We here cant carry any sort of blade without having a reason, and self-defense is not a reason.

I wonder what happens to those people that have swords already S: are they allowed to keep em? Sorta ridiculous, this just isn't Kill Bill...

I wonder if I'll get arrested with the wooden swords I use for Kendo practise. grr.
