Yea, the date stamp is what bothered me. The finish might be due to a special order...but I just don't think Buck has ever used a year stamp like that and why would they?
I doesn't make sense to me that Buck would purchase a different stamp for 100 knives.

Everything else about this knife sure looks authenic.

Well also the fact that the rest of the tang stamp is not in outline and looks normal makes me think twice.

This is for sure 100% BUCK Knife made! THAT is the BUCK "date code" for for this Special Run of M9's.
BUCK made 20,050 for Australia Military NOT " 1 of 100" like advertized..
The sheath looks wrong.(maybe just a bad picture) but for this M9 package I always have seen the date code on the sheath. Maybe buck had a few extra sheaths and since they waste very little they used only the BUCK stamped sheath for a few.
Here is the a picture of the M9 Australian sheaths I have seen

Hi I found this thread while trying to do online research for this Knife.
I'am a novice to collecting / buying knifes and saw this one on EBay and it also peeked my interst. So I need a little help from sesaoned collectors/buyers.

From what I have been able to find online (as big as the internet goes, is scarce) I do agree that as stated above, from apperance that this is a BUCK with the correct Australia Military markings. I also agree from what I have read this was not a issue knife to the Australia Military due to the blade finish. From what I have found/read so far online none were ever issued in that finish to the Australia Military. All the blades were bead blasted, so no it would not fall under the 20,050 issued/delivered knives.

But, I see there is a link with the posting and the attachment does reference this knife in this combination!
http://reviews.ebay.com.au/AUSTRALIAN-M9-Buck-Bayonet-amp-Scabbard?ugid=10000000006851803

It does seem to indicate that it was marketed as a collectable/limited edition in this combination.
the sheath does not bother me too much because as stated these were over runs sold on the US market and may not have the proper marking on them.
Any help or info that you guys could shead in the next 6 days would be appreciated ! Thanks

I'm no expert but the mark might not be a date stamp but the Broad Arrow symbol that is on most Australian military equipment.
