Australian knife Laws

Hey guys!
I put up a thread a while ago about knife laws in New Zealand because I am going to be moving there in a few months but I am going to be going to Australia to visit some friends first and I hear that the Knife laws are super strict! . Has anyone been to Australia and come across troubles with the law regarding knives?Or know about the laws revolving around knife possession, importation,deportation,EDC? Thanks!!

As in every Commonwealth-State, the knife laws are very strict and highly arbitrary. You're pretty much subject to the officer's goodwill, so be polite and use common sense. You will most likely get away with carrying a SAK on a camping trip in the outback, but that very same SAK might get you in a world of trouble when you're caught carrying it in a town combined with rude behaviour towards a police officer...
