Hi Guys

I have finally restructered my Australian Military Knives web page. Not a complete overhaul as I still need to upgrade some of my pic's.

I have finally included the section on WW2 clasp knives aquired from overseas and have streamlined the Utility Knives section.

I still have more knives to add but am waiting for more info on them.

It is at http://military-knives.110mb.com/ if anyone cares to have a look.

I hope the Military knife buffs here find it interesting. Please let me know if I have got anything wrong or if you have anything to add.

I am sure some of you guys will have something in your collection that would look good on the site. I could use some good pic's of any of the Aus made V44's and Knuckle Knives. Heaven only knows how much Aussie stuff is in the hands of overseas collectors. A lot of Aus knives were issued to US Service personell and a lot swapped as well.

Dutchy, thanks for the link to your site. :D

If you are interested in better photos of the machete from posts 2 and 6 of the following thread, let me know. It has been a little while since I raked in the info on that machete from the net, now I'm not sure of where the info came from or its veracity :o. Hopefully there is something in there that you can use.

G'day Edgy

Yes Mate, I would be very interested in some nice pic's of that Machete/Bayonet (you lucky bastard).

Hope you've oiled it since you took those pic's ;)

My humble collection includes , Shelham clasp knife 2001 & the Bolo machete with the bakelite handles and canvas sheath.

funny story about that ,, My dad had one of these for as long as I can remember , I guess he would have bought one of these in the late 70's from a disposal store .
I kinda inherited it , but it had been used well , and ended up swapping it for a 4D maglite ,( they were still pretty expensive then ) around 1999/2000.
And then just a few days later .... was looking at the stalls of tools at the markets -- got one the same in immaculate condition (just about ) with sheath FOR $10 !!!

Later I saw some in a few different city disposals stores for $80 .

on another note

These have been available on ebay for a while ,, dunno if the guy has any more

They are just like a modernised version of the old army golok . very nice machete . mine has an arrow 'MIRIC' ( an engineering firm ) & 2002.
They arent listed on your site.

Thanks for that mate.

I don't have any evidence of that particular machete being issued to Aus troops. I believe the current issue is the wooden handle one designed after the Brit Golok. When I get evidence to support its issue to Aus pers. I will certainly include it.

Great site, Dutchy.
I have a Joseph Rodgers clasp knife dated 4/1970.
Unfortunately it is an original issue and has been beaten severely, although it still holds a keen edge.
The stock number (NSN) is : 7340-66-013-1930

G'day Bluey

Nice little knife. I have a couple of Joseph Rodgers 2 blade knives clasp in reasonable condition. The 66 in the NSN clearly idicates it as Aus issue. IMHO better steel than the later Japanese and dare I say Chinese knives clasp.

I will try and catch up with you for a beer when I am next in Perth visiting my son.

Regards Dutchy :)

nice! i gotta new bookmark.

thanx mate!

now, just need to get myself another .303 Bayonet to replace the one a &*(%^(%^&*^%&*% stole.

"I have a WW2 knuckle knife, with D-guard, New Zealand/Aussie made. The AKE makers mark is on the blade, but I can not find anything to compare with. I have interested buyers but no one will talk money until I can authenticate it. Can you point me in the right direction?
