Authentic 7" Sterile Bright Sog Recon Bowie With Sheath

the 7" real-deal SOG is, IMHO, one of the most fabulous looking knives I've ever seen.

Cheers,

Carl

"Q: Hello, not sure which SOG group or company you think made the bowie,
but the now well known SOG knife company did not make any SOG knives until the 80s.
Sincerely, RobbieRob2002

A: Mr RobbieRob2002- Please do the research and educate yourself before
sending this kind of message, otherwise you just embarrass yourself,
and more importantly, waste my time...."

WTF? Now who's embarrass Mr. hd-bay?

I sure hope that seller didn't steal his grandpa's knife and machete so he could sell 'em on the 'bay for dope money....

sheesh, and the seller is from California .... as if we ain't got enough rude and disrespectful people here already......

at least the kid shows off quite well his ability to "answer questions to the best of his ability." And he's a busy kinda guy, that's very important to a young entrepreneur.

That plaque is for the Vietnamese Air Force. The 522nd flew F-5 aircraft.

I sent him a question myself. Lets see what comes out the other end:

Could you be more specific about the SOG bowie origination. I realize that the SOG company did not make the knife but what organization had the knife made and how many were made and so forth. In other words, do you have a history of this particular knife. Also, what is the relationship the the South Vietnamese Air Force plague with these knives. Thanks.

"Plague"? Christ, I'm an idiot!

We do not have any other than what was published in magazine articles and books. I hvae posted a PDF of a really good article by Ben Baker about all the SOG knives he helped designs. It can be found here...http://sogknives.com/wordpress/2007/07/20/sog-history/

You mentioned that you may have some pictures of the only surviving original Scuba/Demo from articles and so forth. Could you guys scan some pics or a pic and post. Thanks. BTW, the article above refers to page 34, (Nasty Boys Nasty Boats) to refer to how the other knives were lost and so forth. Is that article online as well?

I actually do not have any photos, only the ones in the article. The other article that is refers to is not currently available but I could scan it and make a PDF and make it available. I see about trying to do that in the next week or two.
