My reservations fall within the bug logo on the blade. I never, until now, have seen the bug logo on a Delica Trainer. Everything else on the knife is spot on as far as I can tell. Could someone enlighten me? Is this knife legit? thanks in advance for your assistance.

As I posted on the Spyderco Forum, this is probably one of those "only someone from Spyderco can say for sure" situations.

What is certain is that every Spyderco catalog showing the Delica 4 and Endura 4 trainers shows them without the "bug" logo on the blade, as does the Spyderco website. I don't see any on eBay with the "bug" logo marking either.. To me, that makes your knife either a worthless fake or a potentially valuable "oopsie", but I have no idea which.

I have never seen a fake trainer. As I have never seen a fake Delica 4. I am going to get some clarification from Spyderco. I will share my info with you guys once i receive it.

I agree with Big_jack. There's a lot more items likely to sell than a Delica trainer. I know a lot of people who love Delicas, but have no use for the trainer.

They've been selling the Delica trainer for a long time, just because it doesn't match the stock photos, doesn't mean it is fake or unique.

That could have been one year when they marked the blade and then someone looked at it and said too busy, don't do the bug.

Or the one in the pictures could be the same sample they pull out of the file every year and shoot. Or even the same image that gets reused.

I got this reply from Scott @ Spyderco: Thank you for contacting us. Yes, we do produce the Delica and Endura Trainers with the Spyderco bug logo on them. This has been a rolling change for a few years now.
