Hi - I just received my first Umfaan. I have no experience with these at all, so I would appreciate some input. It has two design features different from other CRK folders I have handled. Namely, the thumb stud design and the single ridge along the handle spine.

Is this accurate for the model? I.e. is this real?

Thumb lugs look correct based on others I've seen. Not sure about the ridge.

Why aren't you showing off the graphic more? :D

Matches what is on mine. nick800 nick800 there really isn't a whole lot more room on those handles to put multiple ridges and a full size thumb lug.

What an awesome little knife. I wish these were still in production. I guess the Mnandi is CRKs only gentleman’s folder for now. (Though I think my small 21 is sort of a nice gentleman’s knife)

Anyway, I wanted to say I haven’t seen any fake Umfaans out there. Particularly not ones with the art on the front scale.

Nick - looks legit to me. You've owned many CRK knives over the years, so I would say if you take apart this umfaan, and put it back together, you'll know if it's legit based on the tolerances you're used to on other sebenzas. There's no chance any counterfeit would match the tolerances. You will just know.

Speaking of this zebra umfaan, can someone post the pic?

Your Pheasant Tail Umfaan is legit Nick. I have had 2 umfaans and can easily verify. Nice Score. I have a large and small Pheasant Tail sebenzas. Nice to see this little guy around.

Thanks. I was just curious because I have never seen one of these in person.

I have a large Pheasant Tail, so now all I need is the small.....
