Autistic Boy found after being lost 2 days!

Autistic Boy found after being lost 2 days in the woods of Nova Scotia without a jacket, he was playing in his yard with his dog when it ran off into the woods, the boy followed it and got lost. 1 of 2 search and rescue ground teams found him in miserable condition where they have rushed him to the hospital. The other team followed the dog tracks home.

Wandering is an unfortunate trend among many autistic children and this sort of thing happens fairly often. My son has PDD - it is mild in comparison - but I can totally see him wandering. Luckily he loves bushcraft - so I am teaching him as we go.

I need to teach him about expedient shelter, and signaling. IN fact, I need to do this soon, and one on one - I am glad for this motivation. I am on it.

This is a tragic story. I feel so much pain for his family. My son has autism and could not imagine him wandering into the wilderness alone. My prayers go out for his family.
