I was thinking about purchasing a SOG AUTO-CLIP..But I need some info about this knife. I've read all the knife related magazines looking to find some reviews on them..So far, zip..I would apprecitate any input.

Hi Island,

The AutoClip is one of SOG's more successful knives of all times. Why? It utilizes quality materials, comes in a variety of sizes and colors, and features a patented adjustable clip!

The variations in colors of handles are black, yellow, red, and green. Blade lengths are 2.9" and 3.6". These knives also come with black TiNi coating. In addition to the "bowie" styled standard model, a hollow ground drop point model, called the Outdoor Mini AutoClip, is also available.

This year, SOG is adding the X-42 model to the AutoClip series. This will feature a tanto styled blade with the exotic BG-42 steel!

A reasonable price, excellent quality, and an outstanding warranty makes these knives very desirable.

Any other questions? Please feel free to ask. You can also call our Consumer Services Department at (888) SOG BEST.

I think I would like this knife a lot better - and buy one - if it just had a plain old metal clip ala Spiderco, BM, and others...
I like my folders to have a very slim profile. I dont like thick folders like the CRKT and like folders...
The Auto Clip is a decent knife - but not for me.
Could you take Dremmel and remove the Auto Clip portion and screw in a regular clip?

Thanks Ron for the info! Wow! I never knew they had had a black coated AUTO-CLIP..Most of the Auto-clips I see for sale in catalogs have stainless blades..I will do some research for the TiNi blades..THANKS!
