Hi Folks I am looking for advise on two issues. I have a Lone Wolf Scale release D/A. When I sweep the scale up towards to blade spine (to fire the knife) I find it challenging as the scale is not so easy to move. I can make it work but not enjoyable. Has anyone opened a scale release with intent to make it easier to sweep/move scale? I am wondering about taking the scale off, polishing with a Dremel and adding some FrogLube to make it function better. Thoughts? Comments? Rude gestures?

I have a sweet Mike Sitton D/A with the auto action being a small button near bolster. I would like to make this button less obvious by changing it to a bolt head button. I don't know if Mike Sitton is still active but will find out at the upcoming Atlanta Blade show. Any advise on who to speak with at the Blade Show to find someone who could do this modification for me? Any advise greatly appreciated.

Finally, I am collecting D/A OTS knives and hoping to find some custom makers at the show. Any recommendations on who might be making these super cool blades?

Thank You,

Stephen

The Lone Wolf knife is best left alone. Just put some lithium grease in the sear notch of the blade.

Not many makers are currently building Dual Action autos...Matt Diskin, Larry Chew, and Tuch Knives are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Diskin and Tuch will have tables, a few dealers should have some of Larry's new midtech D/A at the show as well.

Bill DeShivs Bill DeShivs advice you should take with authority, he is a resident auto repair member, and holds licenses from several manufacturers as an authorized repair technician. He has also designed his own auto mechanism/knife. In other words he’s beyond qualified and has loads of experience, what he says about an auto can be taken as fact.
