Autobody rubbing compounds for stropping?

I have 4 potential strop compounds:
* No.7 Heavy-duty Rubbing compound (brown)
* TurtleWax Rubbing compound (brown)
* TurtleWax Polishing compound (white)
* MetalGlo Premium Polishing paste (pink; strong odor, ammonia?)

Is anyone familiar with their grit levels or micron sizes?
My blade has a 1000-grit (lansky ceramic) finish, and I dont want to use something too coarse to ruin it.

Automotive rubbing compound will work on some steels but it is ment for paint. Of the ones you listed the metalglo would be the only one I would use. If you want something that will work properly and give better results faster try some of this.

I think only green (Chromium Oxide) is hard enough to work on stainless steel. And it is less then .5 microns as I understand.
