Does anyone make a high quality Automatic Baton? I have played with the standard Automatic Batons and have found them a bit lacking.

I've been carrying an ASP for years, but I don't know of a single department that uses one of the spring-deployed models. Most of the ones you see advertised appear to be rather cheap....
I don't see why a quality item could not be made, but the manual ones are so simple and reliable I don't know why you'd bother.

I have ASPs, Monadnocks, Wilmoths and an RCB in my collection. I messed with the basic Automatic batons and they honestly are not too bad, but the trigger on the grip makes it all but worthless for use.

I searched around and didn't find anyone that made a better or custom model, I was hoping someone here knew of one but it looks like that is not the case.

If nothing else, the coolness factor would be a good reason to make them, but apparently there is not much demand. Oh well, time to keep working on a different part of my collection.

Thanks guys.

Stay away from the cheap batons. Our dept decided to 'save money' by issuing cheap ASP knock-offs to the reserves. After a few were bent trying to close them, they wised up. The automatics that I have seen were of the same quality.
