Automatic knife from CRK

Doubt it. You can find a few with a vallton conversion.

Agreed, the whole point of discouraging blade flicking (no wrist flicking, thumb flicking is considered just okay) is to reduce unnecessary wear on the knife. Implementing an automatic action does the exact opposite and causes faster wear and tear. Like hotbossa said, you can find a few valloton conversions out there, but I believe they need to grind down the heel of the blade to fit the leaf spring system in for some of the sebenza models (classic/21 if I am not mistaken), which looks a bit odd.

A while back, Chris actually was not very happy with the modifications that were done to make some of his knives autos. So those conversions have dwindled out. If you can find one these days, it's price is just about double a new sebenza.

Basically, Mr. Reeve does not like autos and will not make any.

I don't think so, it's kind of completely against what Chris makes knives for.

My immediate reaction is the same as yours Wyatt, but the more thought I give it, I realize that CRK presently manufactures a lot of "killing machine" type knives. They are not all the "working-man's folders" that we regard the Sebenza as. CRK's present fixed blade line-up is almost entirely geared towards military contracts, and weekend warriors, and the Umnumzaan, with it's stealth opening, and harpoon tip, is pretty darn aggressive and "tacticool" as well. So as much as I agree that we are unlikely to see an OTF Automatic dagger from CRK, it would actually fit in just fine with a lot of their present offering.

Auto knives are not "killing machines". That is the vicious propaganda spread in the '50s to get them banned. Please don't continue to spread this nonsense. There are plenty of automatic knives that were used by many "normal" people because they were convenient. For example, my friend found a Schade in her grandma's sewing kit. The lever-lock auto were standard carry for many people in Germany.

"Killing Machines" OMG-Step away from the kool-aid.

While I have no feelings about auto knives (not for me, but could care less for anyone else), I really am not comfortable with referring to CRK in any way, shape or form as "killing machines". While they have some military oriented fixed blades (also hunting, woodcraft), these strike me as more utilitarian in design, less as killers. There's nothing in their lineup like a bayonet or Applegate-Fairbairn dagger.

And that is why I wrote it in quotation marks. Does no-one understand what that means in a post? Anyways......I'm more of a Tang man myself. ;) In future posts I will steer clear of irony.

Just about any knife can be a "killing machine." I prosecuted a murder case once where the weapon was a little Buck Knight. Still, I don't see CRK making an auto. Too many legal issues and too much bad juju.
