Did Buck ever manufacture or sell an automatic 110? I've seen aftermarket conversions, but I've never heard of one coming from Buck in that configuration.

Buck has never produced an auto. The idea has been batted around, but none so far.

The 110, 112, and 500 auto conversions out there are done in the aftermarket.

I think its a common misconcetption that Buck made an auto 110 because some of the shops that do this leave the 110 in its original Buck box with original Buck warranty papers. There is nothing to tell the person that it was actually modified by someone else or that there is no longer a warranty from Buck.
Buck never made a 110, 112, 500, or 560 auto. We do get them back in our warranty department with either bad locks or broken blades. All we can do is send them back. :(

I was almost certain that was the facts, I just didn't want to start a "fight" on the other forum over it.

Thanks for the back up on it Joe.

Try www.coolhandcuterly.com under knifemaking supplies. They show 2 buck 110 auto,s. I don,t know who makes them but there is 1 import for about 40.00 and 1 they advertise as "a Buck 110 auto. Sells for 135.00 if my memory serves me correct.

There are numerous fake 110 autos out there. meaning that the 110 is a fake to start with. Like if the two line 110 is printed off center and the back side is stamped 440 stainless steel. Probably be a single action.

yeah, I got one just out of curiosity.

OK, I mayget slapped for this, but here goes. There's a chap that's posting in the traditional forum saying that he does in fact have a Buck manufactured auto 110. I got the notification of his latest post there, but for some reason it doesn't show up in the thread. Here's the text from his missing post. I wonder if it got "modded" before I got to it?

With all due respect, those people don't know everything that came out of Buck. I opened this knife myself. I have the original paperwork that came from Buck on the knife. I don't have the time to find it right now, but I can tell you, it was not a conversion nor a knock off. Its a traditional Buck with a button activation.
Blues, I was answering a question that came up on this to start with. Plus, we are talking about all kinds of nice yellowhorse, damacus, other types that came out of the Buck factory. This one is no different. its as traditional as any other standard 110, with the exception of the button."

What do you think?

I think CJ should jump in that thread and set them straight. Doesn't look like they will believe any of us.

unless,,,,someone at Buck really did build an auto, and it escaped. But that would take more paper to prove, than the standard packagings.

Yeah, the fact that it came in a Buck box with Buck paperwork as he says (unless the paperwork is for an auto) means nothing. I have some with aftermarket mods that also came that way. It just means someone got the knife, did the mods and put it back in the box.

Interesting that he didn't have time to find the paperwork. I'll be waiting to see if he comes up with something to back this up.

He says, "i opened the box myself". the box is only held closed by a piece of tape. Remove old tape, re-place with new tape, and the next guy can "open it himself".
