Autos and Concealed Carry Permits?

A quick question. I know that most states frown (an understatement) upon autos.

I realize that this will vary from state to state, but in general--will a concealed weapons permit allow you to carry an auto knife? The reason I ask is because it will allow you to carry a concealed gun--it would would be logical to conclude that you would then be able to carry an automatic knife (generally considered to be a weapon in most states). However, I realize that the law is not always logical.

Does anyone have some feedback on what they know about their state? (I live in OK)

thanks

Matt

In all but a few states, the answer is no.

Most states that are issuing issue a "Concealed Firearm" or "Concealed Handgun" license which, logic aside, does not extend to knives.

Keep in mind that carrying an illegal knife is a "weapons-related" violation. In many states, conviction of a weapons-related offense would mean loosing your gun license.

In PA, you get a License to Carry a Firearm, which gives you no rights to any other type of weapon.

In Fla. it's a concealed "weapon" permit and covers guns and knives (probably batons, nunchuka etc...) But I'm not sure of the automatic knife part of the equation. Maybe someone with more info can fill us in.

Here in Texas, a C.H.L., (Concealed Handgun License) does not allow you to carry a auto knife, only a handgun. I find this funny as a 44 mag. or a 45 Casull bullet will do a lot more damage that any auto folder will. Isn't it funny how the politicans thought processes work or maybe it's the lack thereof. I feel that Hollywood started this prejudice years ago & it still continues to this day. I'm just glad at least common sense prevails in Florida & some other states.

Doug.
