Alright, with the debut of the Emerson Triton Auto, two questions beg to be asked.
#1 Anything with an exposed button is like plain, vanilla ice cream now. Yeah, I know, some of us like vanilla, but most of us like some variety.
There is not just the "Slick Trick Factor," of the Covert, Double/Action Automatics. Covert is, in my opinion and that of many, many others...simply the way to go now for a variety of reasons, all of them valid.
While the Bolster Release has been popularized by the MT LCC D/A and the hidden under clip or panel Release by the Vallotton & MT-Vallotton Chameleons, and the screw Release by Darrel Ralph and Larry Chew [although separate designs], the Scale Release can be incredibly Covert and having an Aluminum Body, the Triton would simply shake the Knife Community as a Double Action Scale Release.
Of course, I don't know how to accomplish that with a Coil Spring-Fired Auto, nor do I know if it is possible at all. It might only be possible with a Leaf Spring. Meaning, the Design of the Triton would have to be altered.
#2 Mr. Emerson's First Knife was a Balisong Knife. Since he is now delving into the Limited Auto Market, why not design and produce a Balisong Knife? A knife which would have a much wider market. Look at the Balisong Forum right here at Bladeforums. Use it as a Marketing Tool. Something Microtech would not do.
There is so much room for new designs in this field. And the Balisong Knife is having a massive new re-birth starting, RIGHT NOW.
It is a difficult knife to do well.
Emerson takes so much heat for various things, but one thing cannot be denied, this was Ernest Emerson's first knife he ever made, and if someone cannot see pure talent, that's their problem.

Usual Suspect
Ipsa scientia potestas est aut disce aut discede
Some of my Knives and other neat things
