autos in san diego

Your best bet is in the base so talk to those military guys. I don't think there is a store in San Diego that you can buy since auto knife are illegal in California. Usually people just ordered them if they are law enforcement or military and you have to fax your ID to prove it to them before they will let you buy it.

I live in San Diego, but I don't frequent brick and mortar cutlery stores, so I can't tell you off the top of my head. Best bet is to Google the phrase
"San Diego" cutlery

You'll get about a 4 or 5 hits. You could call around tomorrow morning and see if anyone carries what you want. Because San Diego is a military town you may find something you can buy as a military man that the normal folks can't.

I'd ask the US military people you know. There has to be some places around where there that many military stationed. Auto's 2 inches and under are legal for everyone in CA. Military and LE can get the regular ones so there have to be stores around that carry them. Make sure to bring your military ID. I'd think even though it's canadian it should be all you need. Joe
 
Ask the Military guys there maybe, or contact an Officer (PD) & ask them where a Uniform shop is that also carries knives (Galls now owns a bunch of uniform shops & sells them throught their stores).

They will ask for ID, but otherwise you're good to go. Also, autos with under 2" blades are legal in Cal.
 
I used to live in San Diego; I don't know of anywhere down there for autos, but for legal knives there's nowhere better than Wright Knives in La Mesa: http://www.wrightknife.com/ Great selection and fair prices. Dennis (the owner) is a good, honest, knowledgeable guy, and a BFC member.
