Needed to get out and think for a while today so I took a walk along a babbling brook...here are some pics from the walk.

I disturbed a few buzzards.

Found a nice burl.

The colors were nice under the clear blue sky.

I found a cool piece of drift wood

I sat by this pool for a while and just listened to the water babble.

You can see the egdes of layers where the creek has worn through them.

Then these reed like grasses sounded so dry when I passed through them that I decided to try them as tinder and they took a spark well. The longer I have this knife the more I am liking it...and I loved it to start with.

Nice pics! You have a nice area to walk. Our leaves are about gone here already.

You know, I just got my Sojourne from Bryan about a week ago and was telling him the same thing. The more I carry and use this knife the more I like it and I really liked it to begin with too. :D

Thanks for the sweet post as always. I'd by fly fishing that if I walked by it. :)

Looks like Suck Creek. It's pretty this time of the year. Sometimes it is a raging torrent.

Hey mistwalker,

Thanks for the pictures - love that little creek.

The three requirements for me to enjoy my surroundings are rocks, trees and water. Your pictures fulfilled all three.

On an aside, do the rest of you guys find typing problematic when you drinking vodka??

Doc

lucky no snow

Yeah, and unfortunately we have been so lucky for some years now...other than up on the mountain all we have had all winter lately has been dustings.

great pics MW..

Thanks Mike, glad you liked :)

Thanks for posting Bro

Glad you enjoyed them.

Nice water shots.

Thanks Ken, I like to sit by the lager pools and meditate.

Thanks Dave, I love certain aspects of this place enough to put up with the ones I don't. This is one of my favorite places in the autumn and winter.

Glad to hear you like the knife, it's definitely one of my favs.

Glad you liked it but I've seldom seen any fish in this section...they are all further down stream or up on top.

Thanks man. It's the Sojourner.

Thanks Doc, glad you liked it. Those are among my favorite attributes of an area too.

Never tried...but I do find that I have difficulty typing when the mrs. has been drinking vodka :D ...for me it's turkey or bacardi :)

Nice shots, Mist. Beautiful country. How far from home?

Thanks bro, glad you liked them. It's about a twenty minute drive....thirty if I stop by the little store.

Nice pics, reminds me of when I was in TN.

Thanks man. Hey...whaddaya know, this is Tennessee :D

This is a beautiful stream.
The season also seems to be the best.

Also, thanks for the fire starting tips.
It reminds me that washed vegetation tends to be ignited easily
than simply dead and dried one.
