Availability of the ESEE-5

hi there,

this is my first post here and i hope i don't break any rules right from the start...

now that i had enough time with my izula i'm absolutely positive that ESEE is the way to go for me for a bigger fixed knife. and since i want something substantial i'm pretty sure that the ESEE-5PB is the one... BUT i searched the web and didn't come up with a lot of options where to buy it - simply because this knife seems to be out of stock almost everywhere they carry ESEE knifes. :confused:

is that because it's hot ;) or is there some kind of change coming to this model anytime soon (so that production stopped or anything) - i figured this would be the right place to ask, so bare with me if it's not!

Im not aware of any upcoming changes....dont know if I would like any changes....but, there are more than a few for sale on eBay right now.

@EK20: yeah - thats the only place i could find it - and they only have one left in black plain...

ebay is not my first choice to be honest but i also just found one auction from some canadian dealer...

i just wondered because none of the (big) shops where i had ordered before do have it - and i wouldnt want to buy the last one before a hypothetical revised model gets pumped out... so it's more like waiting for the ok, go signal :D
 
Yeah I'd check the auction website, I've never seen a shortage or price gouging there. I usually check the dealers 1st (a few are on there) but 2 dealers not on there I do have personal experience with are the knife connection and patriot knives. Look in the dealer section and exchange here too. GL I can't wait for my 5 to get to
me !!!
 
@iyyob: thanks for the heads-up - i always look for user-feedback on shops (maybe thats why i never had a problem with a dealer once) but both dealers dont stock the version i want neither does any dealer in the exchange

the reason for this thread was that the BLACK PLAIN version of the knife seems not widely available - i thought about getting the green one but i dont like the looks...
 
They don't last long at all.

No matter how many I order and get they are always long gone even before they arrive.

The ESEE knives are an amazing knife and they never last long in inventory like other brands can.

is there any waiting time involved if you order as a dealer or do you get deliveries pronto?
 
TKC had one black plain 5 in stock yesterday but looks like it's gone now.

Right now it seems everyone's stock is flying off the shelves.

This is how some of those huge knife collections get started. You end up buying another model while you wait for the original one you intended to purchase to get back in stock.:D
 
yeah seems they underestimated the impact the ESEE-5 would make a bit... the other models all are in stock. and no they will not make me buy something ELSEE :p i'm dead set on the 5...
 
ok i think i may have found what your looking for, but the price is a little steep because its under Rat Cutlery and not ESEE but its the same knife by the same people just prior to name change

Why would the price be steep? It is just old stock that someone never sold.....
 
I guess some ppl like to collect I really don't know I'm a user. But it's pretty damn close to double the price most dealers offer.

nah im not the sentimental type - for me only the newest available at the moment of purchase. and i also don't collect i only buy with the intention to use. life is too short to collect clutter...
