Are flat ground Sebenza's in production at all? I have a large and small regular and I would like to somehow get my hands on one. Thanks

Jon

I don't think so. the last limited run was a coupla years back..

You may also consider posting a request in the "Knives Wanted" forum. You never know someone may have one with which they'd be willing to part.

The Flat Ground blades have been discontinued for more than a year. They were all Signed by Chris (and dated) on the blade and they came with a Certificate of Authenticity so you will know if it is an original or not.

Chris made some knives back in the early 80's that had flat ground blades but these special Sebbies were the only other ones that he ever offered with that grind. They had a pretty high price tag when new but sold well. I purchased three but sold two of them, the one I kept was one of the first ones offered and is dated April 2001.

They are very nice (of course) and I think if you could locate one you would be very pleased. Good luck.

I’m not sure what a fair price would be, new or used. Chris Reeve Knives only made about 150 flat ground Sebenzas. They were all regular, large, and BG42. CRK used to list the flat ground blade as an option. As far as I know, the price was US $345. That’s the same as the hollow ground blade. It’s too bad they stopped making them. They are kind of special because Chris Reeve signed the blades himself.

I recommend what trane fan said, and post a wanted ad. I did this about 2 months ago or so for a flat ground Sebenza. I must have done it at just the right time. I got a reply within a couple of days, and had a new flat ground Sebbie in my hand in less than a week.
