With all the poo hitting the fan over in the Reviews forum, I thought I'd make myself available for doing reviews and testing again. I used to do a lot of reviews when I first came on BFC. I use lots of pics, I don't do destructive testing, and I'll return the knife to you. If you're interested, let me know. Otherwise, I think the Passaround forum is probably a good place to get feedback because you have more than one person evaluating the knife. Anyway, just thought I'd throw it out there. Having another person familiar with making knives review your work is pretty helpful. Better than sending it to someone who will throw it up in the air and see how the impact on his frozen driveway affects it, or smashes up cinder blocks with it.
 
What $hit is hitting the fan. I very seldom go to any other part on the forum. Please en-light (I don't think so, but try, to dense)me. :confused: :confused: :D
 
Everybody's pissed off at Cliff's "scientific" reviews. This is the guy who bashes knives through concrete, etc.
 
I rarely stray from the makers area myself but I know that Cliff has been doing that for years and he'll still be doing it years from now. He can really annoy some people when he dreams up some new torture test that gores some ones favorite maker(s). It will settle down after awhile and flare up again in a year or two.
 
Unfortunately people who don't know his shenanigans don't have the perspective. I know one extremely talented knifemaker, Sean Perkins, left the business primarily because he wouldn't give Cliff one of his knives for testing and just about every time Sean posted anything there was Cliff accusing him of lying about his testing.

I only hang out in ShopTalk. I respect my customers - no matter who wants one of my knives - but the other forums on this site are a complete waste of my time. Chiro, no disrepect to you, but I feel like I can speak for most of the other makers in that we really don't give a rat's aZZ what goes on in those kiddie forums. :rolleyes:

For those of us with joe jobs, it's a good release. I try to be civil in here, I think the Knifemaker forums are the only ones I have any respect for. I've learned a lot, thank you gentlemen. I'll see you in the W and C :D .
 
I am everywhere. I just click "new posts" and click on the interesting threads. :D
 
I sorta spread my BS pretty liberally, too. I have been enjoying posting porn in the Pirate's Cove, but I think that'll be short-lived! :p
 
I guess I was the one responsible for stirring up the s**t can about Cliff. I try to keep my mouth shout about such things but what he does galls the crap out of me. People that know me know I speak my mind when something bugs me. You're right Jeff some of the other parts of BF are just a waste of time. I do like the Cove because some of it's hilarious. The wilderness forum is enjoyable to, but Shoptalk is the best. This is where the cost of being a member pays off. A great bunch of guys I consider family. ;)
