Has anyone tried the new Kershaw Avalanche?
Does it operate as well as the smaller torsion-assisted blades, like the Black Out?
How does it compare to a Benchmade AFCK?
Thanks for the info.

Looks like an honest mistake to me. I'm sure that Pelle meant to say that you would probably get a better reply to this question in the General forum. Unfortunately I don't have any experience with the knife in question.

The Avalanche is nice knife. Not larger than Black Out, it has basically the same dimensions and very similar design philosophy. But it is built up of premium materials and design seems to be more refined.
Please visit Misque's impressions on this knife here: http://www.bladeforums.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/001656.html
This time I'm admiring mine and playing with it, while later I'll share my impressions here.

So far I can tell - blade opening assist works very well, similarly to older premium models like Ricochet or Random Task. Please visit my writing on Ricochet here: http://www.bladeforums.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/001664.html
Think the Avalanche is incomparable with BM AFCK. AFCK is a large tactical folder, Avalanche is rather medium sized all around pocket knife.
