I changed my avatar - first time since signing up here at bladeforums. I must admit I was kinda scared to do it. :o

You guys will have to tell me if I did the right thing.



Anyway....


Anybody want an free custom avatar made just for you over the weekend?

I've done a lot of contests for avatars that were all posted in the Community Center, etc. and all this time forgetting about the guys here in ShopTalk (some of whom rarely visit other forums - you know who you are. :D )

Thanks Dan,

I'm trying to come up with something that incorporates my initials. which are MW. I would like to use this as my knife logo. Let's see what you can do.

Here's an idea:

I could 3D an "M" and the shadow could be a "W".

Better yet, it could be a reflection in a blade.

That's the fun of the contest - you come up with the crazy idea, and I make it happen.

I could do 100 things with a J and an A, but want to know what you want.

Keep the ideas coming.

I open to doing more than one, if enough good ideas make it.

Heck, until I saw that enlargement of George, I thought he was an old coot! Now I see he is a young coot! Dan, how about a firey knife stuck through a rock with the word knifemaker under it?
 
Awww, George is just a coot, period! :D

The new avatar looks great Dan. George might break the camera but, I obviously couldn't even get anyone to take my picture. Had to do it myself in the mirror. That's 7 years bad luck. :rolleyes:

You are doing some really cool stuff... I appreciate the effort.
If you want to give it a try, here is a simple one.
Picture a large angry owl, swooping down from above, wings spread. Both legs extended with two large bowies sticking out in opposite directions at a 45 degree angle. The owl is also at a 45 degree decent. Centered between his feet, on the ground an anvil sitting on a stump? With CRYING OWL FORGE printed in a half circle around the bottom outside for a border...?
No problem, you say?????????
Not that I've given this much thought, so feel free to render artisticly.

Dan, how about this: "Innocent Knives", with a dagger or a push dagger and a halo. Is that enough info? If you felt real subversive, you might work in a little devil, or devil's tail somehow... ;)
