avatar help

I would like to add an avatar pic but cannot figure out how to do it.
please help, i am dull about computers.

Click on "User CP" at the left of the blue menu bar above. Now click "Edit Avatar" under the "Settings & Options" area at the left.

Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 120 by 120 pixels or 9.8 KB (whichever is smaller).

If you need help with the actual picture, getting it the correct size, etc., let me know. I can do that for you if you want. Just let me know what picture you want.

Thanks V-T, i already had tried that but did not know what "format" ?
i also do not know what any computer language words mean. i speak only pre 1970 english(and french).
i have a pic in photoboucket. is it the same as showing a pic. in a thread ? or do i use one of the other 3 "formats ??" given by pb ?
i have no idea how big 120x120 is, so no idea if my pic is too big or how to water it down to fit.
please keep help coming.

My avatar is 120 pixels wide. Images can be either GIF, JPG, or PNG if I remember correctly. You need image editing software to resize and save your image into an avatar-sided image. I use Photoshop to edit and resize photos. Some people use Paint Shop Pro or any number of other image editing and/or resizing tools.

Here is a website that will create an avatar for you so you don't have to know anything.
