Well I just bought myself a pen cam to make small videos with it. The thing is when I record myself doing my usual routines, a 10 second video turn outs to be about 50 mbs. The videos that I d/l from Clays site are extremely small in size about 400kb. How do you guys make the videos so small? Any information would be highly useful to me. Thank You to who ever answers.

We embark into a new year, lets see what new balis pop up. :D

10 seconds of .avi is 50Megs??? No way! 10 seconds of mpeg is only a couple of megs. You've got something wrong.

In the software, you can probably find some settings. One big one to find is the frame rate. Try turning that down.

Also, consider your background. A busy background means more information and a bigger file. Try hanging up a plain-colored bed sheet. Watch your own clothing too.

Turn off sound. I know, I know. People like to hear the "click clack." But, it actually adds a lot to the file size.

I've used editting software from www.flickerfree.com. It might help you.

It sounds like you didn't compress your videos at all.

You don't mention which software you're running, but if you look around in the menus you should see compression options. You'll have to play around to see which work best for you.

Thz guys, I'll see what I can find. Maybe once I figure out how to compress the freaking files, I might get some vids up. Just don't wait too long lol.:D

So, what kind of camera is this anyway that can make 5Mbytes/second?

My first digital camera was a little video conferencing thing. It cost like $30. Anyway, it hooked up through the parallel port on my computer. You can get maybe something like 700KBytes/second through a parallel port.

A lot of the new ones now are USB. But USB is only good for 1.5MBytes/second absolute maximum.

Firewire?
