That's exactly what I said after I recuperated from the near-fall I just endured.

I work at a restaurant waiting tables. I was in the back pushing a rack of glasses into the dish room, leaning over, rolling it in. I was trying to weave around a fellow server, and pushed my side against the wire frame rack we keep containers on. Since my employer recently decided it would be a FABULOUS idea to change from non-slip shoes to colorful tennis shoes, I lost my traction and began to fall forward. I managed to not completely fall and regained my balance before I was about to hit the floor. I got myself up, put the rack in it's place, and put my hand on my hip...

This is what I found

Friggin' BUMMER.

I had to send my knife in anyway since when I tighten the screws it tightens the tension on the blade, and I want to put double lugs on, but still... weak.
This is making me rethink my decision to carry my sebenza at work. I'm always paranoid of losing it; I'll probably start carrying one of my spydercos while I'm there and carry my sebenza when I'm off the clock.

 man i would be pissed!

i dont think you have to send it back however, just take the clip off and bend it back.

well i would use a padded vise if i was in your predicament. titanium is tough stuff. i bent out a Ti clip before and i just bent it back, easy peasy :D

I bent my clip while I was on assignment in FL earlier this year. I simply bought a new clip for mine as I tried to straighten it out (no such luck, I didn't ever feel i got it secured enough to feel comfortable with it). I think the new clip cost me like 15.00. Well worth it in IMO. That just sucks my friend.

I had that happen on a Kershaw and they sent me a new clip, no questions asked.

Try this. With the clip in the knife, bend the clip to align with the axis of the handle. Then remove the clip from the knife and clamp the end (that sits in the handle) in a vise. Now bend the clip to adjust the clamping pressure. You can lay the clip on the knife to see where you need to go. I often adjust clips to match the thickness of the material on my pocket and to get the clamping pressure right. It's not rocket science.

I have had this happen too. Take it off and bend it back, a vise or pliers will work for holding it.
Take care though, bending it multiple times will create a significant amount of metal fatigue

I tried bending it back... I got it close, but it's just skewed so awkwardly I don't feel confident that I can get it back to it's original form. As for screwing it in and then trying to bend it back, I don't want to risk messing up the detent for the clip.

I'll just pick up another clip. Thanks for the advise though!

CR will send you a new clip. You might have to pay for it but you don't need to send it in. Just give'em a call and see what they say.

I just got a large calfskin CRK sheath for my umnumzaan, and I now carry in pocket during the week and weekends. It may be a solution - at least the clip wouldn't be exposed to get caught on something.

I have lost 3 expensive auto's over the years do to pocket clips. No more pocket clips for me, The first thing I do when I receive my new knives is remove the pocket clips. After using CRK's belt pouch & calfskin slip case thats all I will Use. I carry my large Seb or zaan in my belt pouch on my rt side & my small seb in a small slip case in my lft frt pocket & depending if at the time I have a mnandi it get clipped next to my pen in my shirt pocket. Once you go clip-less you wont go back, Plus it makes the knives feel way better in you hands. Thats my 2 cents worth :yawn::yawn:

Haven't gone clipless, but I agree 100% about the fact that the clip gets in the way of a good ergonomic grip.
It is very nice for easy carry though :)

This happened to me on my SNG after i had it for like a week, I was upset to say the least, but I just bent it back.

Getting a new clip will solve your problem. About increasing the blade tension when you tighten the pivot, you need to take apart, clean, lube and reassemble correctly will fix that. Your sebbie looks well loved and it looks like a spa treatment wouldn't be a waste of money. They will reblast resharpen and put the clip on and it will come back looking like new, no muss no fuss and it will be done right! While your are at it you can have them put in the new perferated washers. Should easily be less than 50$. Very worthwhile IMHO. Go for it. as for the clipping to the pocket I prefer that to in order to have immediate no BS access to your knife and yeah I've bent a clip out like that before and got a new one because they can get somewhat hard to bend back just right. Good luck!:p;)

I'd sure try to bend it back, but my little brother bent his similar to yours and I was able to fix it. Once. The second time he bent it, it wasnt as bad, but the clip snapped off by the screw when I tried to bend it back.

He didnt like the clip anyway, so he pocket carries it now. :D
