Many thanks to you Kershaw folks for your insightful and informative threads on the various Kershaw folding knives.

After a month or two or weighting up the pro's and con's of the various models I have just placed an online order for a Junkyard Dog II 1725ST.

I'm sure the wait for the mail man will seem a long one but I will be watching some of the many video's on this model as well as continuing to read and learn more about Kershaw blades.

You've been bit by the kershaw bug. Next time you go to walmart check out the od1 or zing. This may be your first kershaw, but it won't be your last.

Great pick! You'll love it. Your hand will mold right into the handle.

The grip style was a major part of the decision to go with the JYDII.

You've been bit by the kershaw bug. ...but it won't be your last.

So it already seems; I'm now looking at a Leek and a ZT0300. I believe once you have at least 3 of the same manufacturer you can say you have a collection. :D

dont you just hate the wait ?

It is said that patience is a virtue, but I hope I don't have to be too virtuous? ;)

Thanks for all your kind responses.

Well things have progressed nicely since that last post ... did not get a Leek but rather a Junk Yard Dog 1720ST framelock; it was followed by a ZT0200 and then a ZT0302, which took from the JYDII following its 18months of EDC duty.

The ZT0302 has remained at my side for the last 9 months, in use almost every day and I can't see anything nor any reason to replace it!

I know you'll love it the JYD is a very ergonomic knife with a very parctical blade profile.

If you go the way of the Leek, I recently got an s30v/g10 leek that I love to death. Its a great EDC knife as long as you don't go prying or pushing it beyond its limits, since the tip is known to be a little fragile, and the blade is thinner than a heavy use or utility knife.

I think you're going to love that knife. Fits well in the hand, solid workhorse... I bought myself a Chill and a Clash just to dip a toe in the Kershaw waters and I'm hooked. A Skyline is next on my list. Absolutely love them, the Chill especially. I only paid $17 for it but it feels like I got a lot more knife than I paid for. Skeletonized liners, G10 scales, RJ Martin design—it's not perfect and the fit-and-finish isn't Chris Reeve level (I assume, never having bought one of his knives myself) but it is a very quality life and I love holding and using it.

I'm sure your JYD II will bring you the same experience. :)
